Switch 2 availability

Nintendo has an official Big Walk listing for Switch 2, and the official FAQ includes Switch 2 in the available platform set. The answer is therefore yes for the current release information. Use the live eShop route for the price, language display and account-region purchase details because those are not fixed globally.

The three play modes

The Nintendo listing names TV, Tabletop and Handheld modes. Those are platform presentation options, not three different versions of the world or three different multiplayer rules. The party still follows the same co-op structure, with the host, session access and save ownership carrying over to the group.

Online party and crossplay

Switch 2 supports online co-op and cross-platform play according to the official listing. It can therefore join a group that owns another listed version, subject to the current in-game and platform joining flow. Crossplay does not add random matchmaking; the official FAQ still expects friends or a session Join Code.

Mouse-mode context

Nintendo highlights mouse support for Switch 2, which is useful context for the controls question. It does not provide a complete list of every action, accessory or button mapping in the collected material. Treat a specific mouse, controller or accessory result as待实测 unless the live listing or game settings confirm it directly.

Voice and text chat

The game includes voice and text communication, and proximity is part of the voice design. A Switch 2 group may therefore need to plan how it will communicate when players are separated by distance or environmental sound. The no-microphone fallback is in-game text chat; an external voice call is not a replacement for the design rule.

Save and session planning

The host owns the world save and the game autosaves according to the official FAQ. Agree on a regular host before a group begins a long route, because the next session needs that host to start the world again. Platform cloud-save services are separate from Big Walk host ownership and should not be presented as cross-platform progress sharing.

Who should choose Switch 2

Switch 2 is the natural route for players who value TV, Tabletop or Handheld flexibility and already have a group ready to play online. Check the eShop listing, the intended control method and the host plan before buying. If friends use PC or PS5, read the crossplay and Join Code pages next.
