What the PS5 group can do
The platform supports the same co-op premise: players explore together, solve challenges and communicate as they move through the world. The official platform material confirms online multiplayer and crossplay. It does not turn the game into a public lobby service, because the FAQ separately says there is no online random matchmaking.
Joining friends on other systems
PS5 is part of the cross-platform group with the other listed versions. Try the platform friend route first when a friend is visible there; use the host session Join Code when the automatic friend relationship does not expose the session. The PlayStation listing and Steam feature material describe proximity voice chat as part of the game.
